Abscess Cat Has Fluid Filled Lump
If you notice your cat seems feverish or unwell and has a lump with a scab in the middle it is likely an abscess.

Abscess cat has fluid filled lump. Abscesses are a common type of lump that usually form a few days after a fight with another cat or dog. These fluid filled sacs are typically benign meaning they are not cancerous and do not cause much physical discomfort to your cat. Abscesses in cats usually appear as a swelling under the skin but they can also go unseen inside the body or in the mouth under the gums. They are rather large and filled with fluid.
Abscesses are bacterial infections. Sebaceous cysts can appear anywhere on the body of your cat but most often occur on their trunk chest and sides or legs. Sebaceous cysts appear as raised bumps and are soft in feel. As a skin swelling abscesses look just like a tumor or lump but may appear more suddenly.
Theyre often red and painful so your cat may shy away from your touch. An abscess is a pus filled swollen spot on the skin that sometimes forms where your cat has been bitten or scratched. Owners may notice a small scab over a puncture wound near the lump but sometimes an abscess isnt noticed until it breaks through the skin and oozes pus. Give the antibiotics to your cat as directed and finish the medicine completely.
